Looking for Neck and Back Pain Relief? See Your Chiropractor! [Research]
The Case For Chiropractic!
If you’ve recently visited a medical doctor for low back pain, research says you definitely want to consider seeing a chiropractor as well.
A recent study released by Spine Journal found that over 73% of people who added chiropractic care to their standard medical care treatment plan had their pain greatly improved or even completely eliminated. On the other hand, for those who go with medical care alone, only 17% had those same results.
The researchers concluded that “the results of this trial suggest that Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy in conjunction with standard medial care offer a significant advantage for decreasing pain and improving physical functioning when compared to standard care alone, for men and women between the ages of 18-35 with acute low back pain.”
Chiropractors are trained to correct spinal alignment, fix muscle and soft tissue imbalances and improve joint range of motion to help reduce pressure on the nerves that exit your spine. Chiropractic adjustments have also been shown to reduce pain by stimulating your central nervous system and brain, without having to resort to taking greater and greater doses of medication for pain relief.
So if you’re struggling with back pain – even if you’ve already being treated by your primary care physician – don’t skip on chiropractic care. Research says it can drastically improve your results.
The Big Picture
- Medications are no longer recommended as a first-line treatment for back pain.
- Over 73% of people who saw a chiropractor in addition to their medical doctor found significant or complete relief from back pain.
- Adjustments can help you address the cause of the pain, not just mask the symptoms.
