Rehab Therapy & Myofascial Release – Brookfield Chiropractor

We Go Far Beyond The Chiropractic Adjustment

Actually correcting a musculoskeletal problem is a two-part process: returning proper motion to a joint and correcting muscle imbalances. If you’re only addressing joint motion (chiropractic adjustments), but ignoring the muscles that control and support that joint with specific active rehab exercises, you’ll never get long-term correction and be dependent on getting adjusted multiple times per week forever.

Conversely, if you’re only doing soft tissue rehab – stretching muscles and ligaments that are tight/shortened and strengthening the muscles that are weak/lengthened – without actually correcting the joint dysfunction that’s causing problems, you’ll be stuck with low-level chronic inflammation forever because the joint still isn’t working correctly.

At Ascent Chiropractic, we make it a point to address both.

Myofascial Soft Tissue Therapy

The soft tissue therapies we utilize at Ascent are the gold standard for the treatment of soft tissue sports injuries. Injured muscles, ligaments, fascia, tendons and nerves all respond extremely well to our soft tissue treatment techniques.

What separates the treatments at Ascent from conventional massage or muscle work is the precisely directed tension and the very specific movement to ensure the smooth movement of tissue, the directed breaking up of scar tissue, and the ability to restore function with minimal treatment time.

RockTaping

At Ascent Chiropractic, we’re certified in both KinesioTape and RockTape therapies, which we combine with chiropractic care to correct the root of the problem causing stress on the muscles and ligaments.

Unlike traditional sports taping, RockTape is elastic which allows it to provide stability to joints and muscles without preventing normal circulation or range of motion.

It can also be used for reinforcing positioning between maintenance chiropractic adjustments, relaxing tightened muscles, reducing inflammation and swelling, and decreasing pain.
