Jerry Rice Attributes His Success In The NFL To Chiropractic
Jerry Rice Speaks Out About Chiropractic
One of the greatest (if not the greatest) receivers to ever play in the NFL is now carrying the ball for chiropractic, revealing that “chiropractic care was key to keeping me in the game.”
It’s no secret that football is one of the most physically demanding sports, and Rice took more than his fair share of hits while carrying the 49ers to three Super Bowl championships. “I took vicious hits from players nearly twice my size,” Rice says. While playing with San Francisco, he was listed at a height of 6’2” and a weight of 200 pounds; definitely not the biggest player on the field. “Thankfully, I had the durability to withstand those tackles or I would never have succeeded in lasting as long as I did.”
Like most pro sports organizations, every one of 32 teams in the NFL employ a chiropractor as an integral part of their healthcare team in managing and preventing injuries. “My first experience with chiropractic care was [in the days leading up to] Super Bowl XXIII,” says Rice. “A couple of our key players were injured and our chiropractor turned things around. I quickly became a believer and ever since, I have had the benefit of chiropractic care,” says Rice, a 13-time Pro Bowler who holds 38 career records.
Chiropractic On Dancing With The Stars
Rice explains that his reliance on regular chiropractic care didn’t end when he retired from the NFL in 2005; his chiropractor was also integral to his success during his second run of fame on the hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars.
“Dancing with the Stars was every bit as exhausting and challenging — though not nearly as brutal — as football,” he says. “It required many hours of practice. I had aches and pains that I never had before. Again, chiropractic care made the difference and kept me in the competition.”
The Chiropractic Advantage
Rice acknowledges that most people simply aren’t aware of the life-changing benefits of regular visits to a chiropractor, something he hopes to change. “The game of life requires the edge that chiropractic care provides.”
Rice is one of many hall of fame athletes that attribute their success to chiropractic care. Other athletes that have publicly endorsed chiropractic include Joe Montana, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Evander Holyfield, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Emmitt Smith, and Lance Armstrong.
