What does active rehabilitation mean?

Active exercise-based physical rehabilitation involves participating in movement rather than receiving only a hands-on treatment. At Ascent, it is one of the services available alongside chiropractic and soft-tissue care.

Start with a practical goal

Explain what you want to get back to: a work task, a training session, walking, lifting, or a daily routine. Describe your current limits and what equipment or time you have available for exercise.

Make the plan understandable

Ask which exercises are appropriate, how often to do them, and what symptoms should lead you to stop or contact the clinic. Discuss how the plan may change as your tolerance and confidence improve.

Returning to sport and everyday activity

Returning to activity can involve changing the amount, intensity, or type of movement. Ask how to progress and how your response will be reassessed. Your plan should reflect your evaluation, not a generic exercise list.
